Bookings & Admin Assistant
We're looking for a volunteer to help us promote the services we offer to other community and voluntary groups
Volunteer as a Bookings & Admin Assistant and gain experience in one of the most busy, diverse and dynamic organisations in the city.
Role and Responsibilities

Dealing with general enquiries and bookings for the Centre

Answering the telephone
-
Collecting the post
-
Updating the weekly calendar
-
Showing people around the hall
-
Working with people to help them organise their events (community)

Checking the general email accounts and redirecting enquiries to relevant people or following them up if booking/hall hire

Supporting Accounting Manager with basic finance administration
-
Sending invoices to hirers
Essential
-
Strong administration skills with at least 6 months experience in an administrative role (paid or voluntary)

Basic book-keeping skills

Knowledge of booking systems and developing office filing systems

Excellent telephone manner
-
Confident and outgoing with excellent communication skills

Strong IT skills with knowledge of different operating systems and software

Good basic numeracy skills

Ability to work using own initiative

Confidence to develop good working relationships with a diverse range of community groups, local residents and partner organisations

Strong organisation and time-management skills
-
Ability to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
Desirable

Experience of working in a community arts or music organisation or the voluntary sector

Experience of building client relationships

Experience of working within a multicultural community and understanding of key issues i.e. working with refugee communities

Knowledge of Linux and Open Source software packages

Experience in promotions or marketing

Experience working within an education environment or with young people
