Mission

Mission

Creative Expression for All - our mission is to use the Trinity Centre to engage the local community of all ages in imaginative and socially inclusive projects

The Trinity Centre is protected by covenant for use in service of Youth, Community, Education and the Arts. Trinity is committed to honouring this covenant and provides a mixture of modern technology and creative urban energy in an historical setting in order to achieve this.

We use income generated from events and hall hire to subsidise our community activities, projects and training, as well as investing in maintaining this Grade II* Listed former church. Many of our projects aim to explore the rich cultural heritage of Trinity and its surrounding communities and increase cohesion.

  • Built a training programme for 16-18 year olds and established our profile as a trusted training provider in the City and as part of a consortium of providers recognised by the Beacon Award for Widening Participation in 2010.

  • Been recognised by Bristol City Council as one of twenty Key Arts Providers in the City

  • Developed the building as a hub for cross-culture and intergenerational activities through our Trinity Community Initiative free hall hire scheme and a range of projects including Project Respect, developing partnership links with other organisations to deliver services

  • Built links with local and national promoters to deliver a varied live music programme, raising our national profile with editorial features in NME and The Independent on Sunday.

Testimonies
Feedback from happy Trinity people

Trinity is an elegant and historical space. It s downstairs area is uncluttered and easy to adapt to a variety of community uses. It has a wonderful wooden sprung floor downstairs that dancers love and the sheer space is perfect for larger community gatherings. For smaller activities such as classes and meetings, the spaces are informal and comfortable. The staff team have also been very encouraging of our presence and welcomed new activities in their space. - Kathe Jacobs, Link Age, 2010

Thanks so much for being part of the Stapleton Road screening and launch of the apprenticeship scheme. We had over 60 local people from the community which was a fantastic turn out and with so much input from the local community, Rob Mitchell from Firstborn compering it and Trinity Arts Centre being such terrific hosts, it felt like a real community event. - Jo Sunderland, BBC Outreach & Diversity Producer, 2010
