We are committed to running the Centre with high environmental and ethical standards

Environmental Policy

At Trinity we recycle all of our paper products. We also recycle the empty cans produced from our events. We have received advice from Community Action For Energy on how to reduce our energy consumption. Wherever possible we like to support local businesses for goods and services.

Equal Opportunities Policy

We are constantly reviewing our equal opportunities policy to ensure that we provide equal access in the following areas:

  • Employment and volunteering opportunities - through an equal opportunities recruitment process
  • Governance - by continuing to promote open and equal access to membership of management committee, and introduce a more formal procedure for appointing Directors
  • Information - developing our website to improve accessibility. Also, we will be allocating funds for the translation of materials
  • Consultation - through networking events and through Timebanking
  • Resources - through improving disabled access and offering free events that appeal to the wider community

Accessability Policy

At present our downstairs space is accessible to disabled users via ramps to internal and external doorways. Toilets are also equipped for disabled users and there are parking facilities provided to those with adequate permits. We aim to:

  • Make the Centre fully accessible to disabled users through Objective 2 redevelopment work, which we aim to complete by January 2008 – this will include installing a lift and altering the upstairs space in line with accessibility standards
  • Monitor any improvements once they are in place and regularly review our service to ensure that we continue to meet access standards
  • Have a clear complaints procedure if people unable to access information or resources
  • Provide appropriate training for workers on what constitutes equal opportunities
  • Ensure that we budget for access to information in a variety of formats where requested
  • Continue the development of our website in accordance with rigorous accessibility standards
