Bridges Project Artists Wanted!
Trinity are about to embark on an Arts Council England funded project. Bridges will draw upon personal stories from Bristol residents on the theme of crossing geographical, cultural, religious, language, generational and personal divides. The project will culminate in a final professionally produced cross-art form show that will take place at venues across the city.
Artists working in any discipline or practice are invited to join a vibrant and exciting project with opportunities to work with people with stories to tell from all across the city as well as collaboratively with other artists.
We are looking for proposals that will use the source material in a vibrant and subtle way; that will transcend simple social commentary to create original work that has depth and longevity. We would like artists to think outside the box and consider how actual stories can be transformed, through art, into mythical, transcendent, contemporary and timeless experiences. We appreciate that not all artists are wordsmiths or have access to the dictionary of buzzwords so if in doubt spell out your idea as simply and clearly as possible.
The project will be delivered in three phases:
1) Artists led workshops: with groups of participants drawn from a range of backgrounds across the city.
2) Exhibition: This will be a mid-project exhibition of the community art work produced in workshops.
3) Final show: Elements from the first stages will be used to form the foundations of a show that brings the stories, artworks and performances together.
