Clay workshops with Joanna Espiner (Block 2)

Craft skills workshops delivered as part of the Heart & Soul: Trinity in the Community project

Clay was traditionally used in religious buildings to create elaborate patterns for floor tiles. In these workshops, led by ceramicist, Joanne Espiner you will create ceramic artworks inspired by the heritage and architecture of the Trinity Centre. You will develop your own designs through drawing, photography and taking clay impressions from parts of the building and the final pieces will be displayed in the building.

Workshops are on Tuesday's 11am - 1pm on the following dates:

Tuesday 3rd April

Tuesday 10th April

Tuesday 17th April

Tuesday 24th April

Tuesday 1st May

Tuesday 8th May

Tuesday 15th May

Tuesday 22nd May

Reserve your place by following the ticket link or phoning 0117 935 1200.

Due to high demand of places on the course there is £10 refundable deposit which will be reimbursed at the end of the sessions. If you cancel or do not attend the workshops without giving us 48 notice we will retain your deposit.

About the artist

Joanna makes and collect ceramics. She made her first pieces at pottery classes as a child and later developed a much wider experience of the possibilities of the material at Bath Academy of Art where she completed a BA Hons degree in ceramics. In the last 5 years she has been making functional and decorative ceramics in both earthenware and stoneware, including tile designs and terracotta pots for garden use.

About the project

Heart and Soul: celebrating major life events at Trinity Bristol. Throughout 2018 there will workshops, talks and heritage activities for all ages. The project runs along side our most recent capital works and has been made possible with the help of these funders .
